Care and Advocacy Service – Blissability

Advocacy is founded on the belief that people are of equal value, regardless of ability, wealth or status and are therefore entitled to equal rights.

An Advocate can:

  • help you to speak up for yourself, or speak up for you, if needed.
  • help you to speak up for someone you care for.
  • help you to write letters and make telephone calls with you or for you.
  • ensure you receive the social care and health services you, or someone you care for, may need.
  • help you to have a say in the planning of your care or services or those of someone you care for.
  • find out more information to help you make informed choices.

The aims is to support clients to be fully involved and have a meaningful input in decisions being made about their lives. Support clients to represent their views to the relevant professionals, look at options available to ensure that clients can make an informed choice, and strive to ensure that clients rights are protected and upheld at all times.
