Enhanced Care for Older People:  ‘A Story of Predatory Marriage’

Definition of a Predatory Marriage:

Predatory marriage is a term used to describe a situation where a vulnerable person, often elderly and/or with cognitive impairment, is exploited by someone who marries them for their own financial benefit.

Predatory marriages can revoke any previous wills and result in family members being disinherited – they’re often kept secret from the vulnerable person’s loved ones and may involve coercion or manipulation.
