North East Forum on Ageing

Bill Quay Farm

Our Mission is to enhance our community, promote positive mental health, and give people of all different backgrounds the opportunity to connect with nature.

The farm was first opened in 1986 as a partnership between the Bill Quay Community Farm Association and Gateshead Council. Together, they transformed this 27 acre site from dereliction into a thriving community leisure project.

As a educational centre

Today, we have further transformed this community farm, by offering alternative education and day service provision for clients with a range of abilities. Our focus is to make education fun, whilst learning new skills by interacting with the farm. This environment provides health benefits both physically and mentally, which is a pivotal factor in transforming clients lives. About 1 — Bill Quay Farm

As a community

The farm is dedicated to providing a safe equitable environment for our surrounding community members. A place where you can take time out on your own to relax and recharge or enjoy the day with your family and explore all that nature has to offer.

We pride ourselves on being a place of wellbeing.
